Since the outbreak of Covid-19 people have come together across the borough to provide support for those in need. Below you'll find information on what charities, local businesses and mutual aid groups are doing to support those in quarantine and NHS workers.

Mutual Aid groups are local grassroot organsations of neighbours helping neighbours with errands and purchasing supplies. Find your local Mutual Aid group here.

Charities

Age UK are collecting food and money to help support elderly people during the current crisis.

St Mary's Battersea are coordinating local volunteers to support those self isolating. 

One trust are doing shopping and medicine pick ups for carers.  

Be Enriched is delivering free hot meals and fruit and veg parcels to those in need.

Providing support for those with learning disability and activities to do while in quarantine. 

The Tooting Community Kitchen do food and outreach work in Tooting, Balham, Clapham North and Clapham South.

The Citizens Advice Bureau offers advice over the phone on a range of issues relating to coronavirus from employment to housing.

Telephone support is being offered to families and essential food, medical and baby supplies delivered to those who need them.

Wandsworth Foodbank is now offering home delivery across the borough.

Critical NHS is raising money to feed NHS workers. They use the money to buy food from local businesses and deliver it to staff at St George's Hospital. 

This Battersea-based charity is coordinating with other organisations in the area to deliver food and supplies to residents in need.

Waste Not Want Not is a charity that takes surplus food and delivers free meals to those in need.

Local Businesses

This Thai restaurant with locations in Tooting Bec and Battersea is offering free food for those working for the NHS.

Street Cube is organising direct supply from farms to create a farmers ‘essentials’ market in Wandsworth.

Organisation happy to give free food to anyone who is self-isolated and in need of food. They are also offering 15% off for NHS workers.

The Plattery is a catering service that now delivers free meals to those who can't leave the house. 

They are providing hot meals and food parcels to those in need. 

Richard's Kitchen is a restaurant that is using surplus stock to provide meals for those in need. 

Community  Groups

64 Million Artists are running a daily creative challenge for two weeks that can be done from your home. 

 Carney's Community provide one to one support for those in need via phone and social media. Food deliveries to those most in need at least twice a week. Instagram home work-outs and virtual youth services.

South London Cares aims to keep older people connected virtually during the Covid-19 outbreak.

Wow Mums is delivering food for disabled and vulnerable people on the Falcon Estate. 

Ascension Church is collecting food for the vulnerable and running virtual groups to help people stay connected.

Covid Call is a service that connects volunteers with people in need during self-isolation across Wandsworth.

Manuela Capraro is providing free online art lessons for kids, teenagers and adults.

Their website is showcasing visual art, music, dance and theatre from all over the world.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association are delivering essentials to high-risk individuals. 

They are a community group that aims to help the vulnerable during the crisis. 

Regenerate is offering a range os services including the provision of food boxes, a supermarket collection service and activities for older people to do at home. 

Offering support to anyone self-isolating by collecting prescriptions, picking up shopping or a friendly phone call.

Balham Mosque are offering support to anyone who needs it regardless of faith. 

Providing emergency small food parcels to elderly community members .

Heathmere Primary, Regenerate and Rackets Cubed are working together to deliver free food boxes throughout Roehampton.

This group was set up by medical students to provide assistance for NHS staff.
